pretty good, but paper isn't all perfect squares Jun 13, 2009
By Sarah Frisch
This is a pretty good little product. It comes all in Japanese, but it's pretty simple to figure out even if you don't know the language. The kit comes with 1020 sheets of paper, string, and beads. All you need to do is fold the paper and provide the needle to sew them together.
My only gripe (and for me, it's a big one) is that some of the sheets in my kit weren't perfect squares. They weren't majorly off, to be fair, but every little bit counts when you're a perfectionist about the stuff.
I recommend this product- with the stipulation that you don't mind the squares not being perfect squares.

Just what I was looking for Jun 07, 2009

This was JUST what I was looking for. I wanted the perfect kit to make 1000 paper cranes and this was just what I wanted. The colours are perfect for a bright display. Everything you need is included including paper, string and small beads to make sure the cranes stay on the string. I have not completed my cranes yet but they will shortly be on display at the Peace Prayer Memorial Park in Okinawa as a display of my hope for peace in the future. Thanks so much for the product's timely service and great product over all.

What they said it was. Mar 01, 2009
By Timothy Tucker
One thousand crane kit. Pure Japanese, down to the instructions. If you can't figure out the diagram there are many places on the web to show you the pattern for the crane. This is the most complete, best priced on Amazon and no, I (heh) did not buy the company.
Haven't finished my thousandth yet either. Don't fear buying this one. It was what it said it would be.

So far, so good May 24, 2011
I bought this kit to fold 1,000 cranes for a friend's wedding. Right now I am 450 cranes into this project and everything is going well. As another reviewer stated, not all of the sheets are perfect squares, but they still suit their purpose. There are 51 sheets of each color of paper, 20 shades. For the final product, that leaves you with two cranes of each color for each of the 25 stands of cranes, with one of each color left over.
One thing that I didn't expect was that the dye from the paper gets left on my finger, my bone folder, and the box that I'm folding on. Not a big deal, but something buyers should be aware of.

It is an excellent kit. The paper is a rainbow of beautiful colors. I have made 1000 and used them to decorate wedding tables. Guests were thrilled, loved the intended message of the cranes and took several home with them.
