5Best in the world.  Sep 26, 2011
By Mr. Gary
This little kitchen knife is the best paring knife in the world. Thin, sharp and easy to control it is the kitchen knife I reach for even for larger cutting jobs because it is such a pleasure to use. I have a slightly larger version of this which I have used for 25 years with many more years to go, but this new little knife is even easier to use. This knife is more than worth its cost and leaves all other small kitchen knives in the dust. I say Get It, enjoy using it and if you don't agree with me write a review.

5The Perfect Knife!  Feb 09, 2013
By Rasmus K. Weinhardt "lastrealhippie"
The first reviewer accidentaly mistaked this knife with the small paring knife.
This is the SA-70, which has a 7" blade and a 5" handle. The very thin blade is razor sharp!(You can cut thin paper into fine strips, or shave the hair from your fore arms!!!) It is basicly a Santoku knife, which is a perfect allrounder, although I wouldn't use it for anything harder than apples and carrots. The slightly upward bend handle and the perfect balance, makes it suitable for both, the european rocking motion and the japanese slicing motion.
Like all Mac knives it needs some sharpening from time to time, for which it is best to use a ceramic rod. I use the Kyocera one, which has a sharpening and a honing surface. It rarely ever needs a wetstone.
I have some 30 years old Mac Knives, which are, despite having been used many thousands of times, still as sharp as on their first day.

5Great price/performance ratio  Jun 05, 2011
By John Carlin
Less than $80 and free shipping....terrific. The SA-70 is one of the best utility knives going and this one ups the ante a bit. Same solid performance, but I like the larger blade. Ultra-sharp...be careful when handling. This is my "go to" knife every day. We've got some standard Henckel cutlery (purchased before I knew just how good knives could be) that we still use but they are slowly getting phased out. In the knife world you truly get what you pay for....spend a few extra bucks for the good steel. MAC knives are awesome, and this SA-80 is flat out a great buy. Treat it carefully....the blade is hard and can break if dropped. Wash by hand and treat it nicely and it will provide solid service for years to come.
